Last night in Detroit, GM President North America President Mark Reuss went out of his way to mention the Pontiac Firebird during the 2014 C7 Corvette VIP reveal.
In an event, which was structured entirely to praise the next-generation Corvette, Reuss mentioned that when he was young he asked his dad Lloyd Reuss (General Manager of Buick, and later President of GM) to take him by GM's Design Studios so he could see the new Firebird.
Is this good news for today's fans of the Firebird, who still lament the loss of the Screaming Chicken in 2002, and whose hopes were shattered when Pontiac was dismantled in 2009?
We'll have to wait and see.
Bring back both Pontiac AND the Firebird and Trans Am.
Give the Firebird & T/A nameplates to Cadillac! It WILL work and would be much easier to do than bring back the Pontiac division which I would totally support!
BRING IT BACK!!! Time to reset the standard.
