1970-1972 Trans Ams are easy to identify, thanks in part because they only came in two exterior colors (yes, there are exceptions) Polar or Cameo White and Lucerne Blue. Pontiac offered white Trans Ams throughout the model’s 33-year run, but Lucerne Blue never returned as a color option.
In model year 1999, Pontiac offered fourth-generation Firebird customers a choice of Medium Blue Metallic, the closest the F-body had seen to Lucerne Blue in 28 years. Its possible you’ve never seen the color on a car, because it was produced early in the model year only. It is the rarest color for a ’99 Firebird or Trans Am.
