Here's a letter from a reader who was able to make a difference in his home state regarding proposed vintage car legislation.
I just finished the article on saving our cars. I was co-founder with Bob Whitcher of the Nor -Eastern chapter of POCI, when living in New Hampshire.
I got wind of the state of N.H. about to pass a law that "ALL" cars would have to comply with 1968 emmissions standards. I went to the state capitol of Concord to speak to my state senator about the bill. She said she was going to vote for it, but when asked she admitted she had not read it. I spoke to every senator who was to vote on it and only 1 had taken time to read it! That senator took the time to speak to the others and called me a week later to say how the bill was dead and would of passed if I had not spoken to him.
The point of this letter is to show how it only takes 1 person sometimes to make the people with the power to act the right way for those who will be mostly affected.
