What a sad, sad day for the GTO. With a little friendly competition going on between a friend, I was pushing the GTO hard and it was responding well. Just before the rain hit I felt myself in a common groove where I was comfortable with the course and could really push the braking zones and hard corners to try and shave off a few more seconds.
The Goat wasn’t entirely useless in the rain, however. It made for some extremely fun trips around the track that involved four-wheel drifts – always fun. Once the Florida sun decided to come out from hiding the track dried up quick and we were back out there pushing the limits of the car. Unfortunately the shifter bolts weren’t given Loctite because I’m not very intelligent and forgot to apply it.
On a positive note, the new DBA rotors, Hawk pads, and Russell lines made a large impact. The stopping was consistent and very hard.
