Pontiac Says Don't Worry, We're Not Going Anywhere

Today, we asked Pontiac for an official statement on the industry talk that Pontiac will no longer exist as a Division of General Motors and that all of the great Pontiac cars like the GTO, Trans Am, and Grand Prix will never have the chance to once again rule America's roads.

Here's what Jim Hopson of Pontiac told us, "Incorrect.  There was nothing in the new plan that changes Pontiac's status.  In the future, Pontiac will be tightly focused on youthful sporty cars within an integrated Buick-Pontiac-GMC retail channel."

3. I will believe it when I see it! As far as I'm concerned GM can still screw it up for us! After all this is from the company that said Pontiac will be in direct competition with BMW...what the hell for? I Don't like BMW (B*tch Mans Wheels). They also decided it was a good idea to have the last few years of the Grand Am GT without a stick, and to build cars that target an age group that can't afford what they sold!!! Sure I could have bought a new 06 GTO, but in return I would have lost my family! I pray they don't kill it, but I'm not convinced yet that they are keeping it!

I have a 6 year old who always talks about buying a Firebird when he gets older, who watches Smokey and the Bandit all the time (no he hasn't figured out "Little Beaver" yet), and who drools over my neighbors 2002 WS6 *** I was proud to bring my kids up as Pontiac Fans, I'd hate to see it change. If Pontiac goes, then I stop buying from GM, I don't like FORD, and Chrysler my end up as GM so I guess that means I buy NISSAN since I get a discount on them! God I hope it doesn't come to that!!!
