Life On Mars is an ABC period cop drama set in 1973 and is based on the BBC show of the same name. What’s good about this for us? Besides the fact that its fun show to watch, along with the main character, detective Sam Tyler (Jason O’Mara), we try to figure out why he was transported back to 1973 after being hit by a car in 2008 and every once in a while a vintage Pontiac is shown.

Such was the case on the episode that aired on Wednesday February 18th, when Ray Carling (Michael Imperioli) is spotted in a Verdoro Green 1968 GTO convertible in a couple of scenes. Curiously a few episodes prior, he gave his younger brother his pride and joy Pontiac, which appeared to be a ’68 or ’69 LeMans convertible.

Does Ray have a collection of Pontiacs? Were the LeMans and GTO supposed to be the same car? Is this a continuity issue revealed by the fact that the first few episodes of the season were shown out of order? Who knows, just keep showing the Pontiacs please.
