When I went to buy my GTO last year, I was met with some pretty strong prices. Cars with 30,000-40,000 miles were still about $22,000-23,000. Look again today, and not much has changed. The 2005-2006 GTO's with the LS2 pull some nice coin. Something that is very reassuring to me since I could sell my GTO for about the same price I paid for it a year later. That's buyer confidence defined, if you ask me.
My 2001 Trans Am was purchased for a simply ludicrous price of $12,500 back in 2007 with 32,000 miles on it. I put about 16,000 miles on it and traded it in on the GTO for $12,000. I was very excited about that.
Unfortunately, the same joy isn't shared throughout Pontiac. The 2008 Pontiac G8 GT came into the market at a much lower initial price than the GTO and Trans Am. Still, there is no excuse for their prices. With a mere 10,000 miles on the clock, I was able to locate several below $20,000. This is depressing, yet somewhat cool, in a way. This means these cars will be getting into the hands of more enthusiasts. More attention means more parts.
So get your G8 GT while it's cheap!
