This weekend, I hung out with a few Goat buddies who have an addiction for careless driving. Careless only in style, these guys know what their doing and have a private area to drive this way. They invited me out so I brought the GTO. After 15 minutes straight of 3rd gear turns and a few 2nd gear turns, the GTO was beginning to show its weaknesses.
The brakes were beginning to smell terrible as they struggled to slow the 4,000 lb car down from 120mph. I was greeted with a stubborn pedal with violent shaking as the Goat was telling me to lay off the already mildly warped rotors.
This continued on for about 45 minutes until I decided it was in my best interest to take it home. One thing's for sure, I couldn't stop smiling. For me, there's nothing like entering an apex at the limits of tire adhesion. I certainly learned that the GTO needs new brakes before my next trip out to the auto cross or private road course.
