This is what we received in an email today from Scott Fricker of GM.
Please read the email and help GM stay in business.
As you might guess, we have been calling our state legislators to seek financial support for the auto industry. We just received an urgent voice mail asking us to step up our efforts, and now I am trying to enlist aid from others also - hence the e-mail to all of you. Please feel free to pass this along.
By calling 1.866.927.2233, the automated system will connect you with your state legislators (toll free) simply by entering your zip code. Most likely you will get connected to a staff person or voice mail, but either way we are asking that you express support for the domestic auto industry and request that Congress act in terms of providing loans to help navigate through the global economic crisis. For additional talking points, please visit gmfactsandfiction.com.
Also, we know that there is opposition to aiding the automakers in the following states: Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, Florida, Kansas, North Carolina, Nevada, Wyoming, Indiana, Utah and West Virginia. So it's particularly important to hear from people in these states.
Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated.
My job and 3 million other jobs depend on everyone's support,
