We are a lucky bunch in the office. We seem to conveniently have a series of racing surfaces, or tracks, on the way back to the office. Our sister publication had their 2008 Corvette press car and decided to play with the HPP GTO. Sadly, the turnout wasn't too flattering for our full exhaust Goat as we were defeated by the lightweight sports car fair and square. From a roll, the two LS-powered muscle cars were about even, but through the twisties, the GTO limped through pathetically while the Vette held on with vigor.
In the drag race, the GTO's wheel hop was all that was necessary to achieve the final stabbing blow from the Chevy. Even with our Goat's mods, the featherweight LS3 Vette accelerated effortlessly.
Hats off to the Vette.
