In the Nov. ’08 issue of HPP, we’ll feature Paul Rimsky’s original-owner ’71 Trans Am. During the teardown for this restoration, the dash was removed. As you can see in the photo he sent us, underneath it the name “Linda” was written. Did Linda install the dash on the Van Nuys line? Was it Linda’s husband or boyfriend who wanted to immortalize her name in a hidden part of a fast Pontiac? Who knows, but a discovery like this helps keep the hobby interesting. Have you come across a similar situation in a Pontiac you know to be original that had never been taken apart before? Tell us about it.
