If Pontiac is positioning itself as the performance car division of GM, then why does it need a rebadged Aveo called a G3, which is currently sold in Canada and Mexico under other names and will be coming to the US? Consider this, part of the reason is to help GM and its CAFÉ requirements. Could selling lots of G3s lead to a rebirth of the Firebird or GTO by way of the lesser CAFÉ burden? It’s a stretch I know, but could it happen?
