Corvette Driver Takes The Wheel in a Pontiac Race Car

Ron Fellows To Drive Pontiac GXP.R In Mexico City

Ron Fellows, best known for his lead role with Corvette Racing, will get to drive a Pontiac, at least for a little while. According to GM, he will partner Leighton Reese in the No. 06 Banner Engineering Pontiac GXP.R in round three of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 Mexico City 250.


 

Fellows is a three time American Le Mans Series GT1 champion, has two 24 Hours of Le Mans class wins, 19 Trans-Am wins and five NASCAR victories.  Fellows has previous experience in the Grand-Am GT category having driven the Pontiac GTO.R at Mid-Ohio in 2006.  The sports car veteran will be stepping into the Banner Pontiac that finished third in the last race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
