The Cost of Performance

Rising Fuel Costs

With the cost of fuel on an exponetial rise, and no end in sight, where does that leave the performance community?

Weither you will admit it or not, fuel costs are ridiculous. I get roughly 23mpg in my daily driven GTO, and I feel the bite once a week when I have to fill up. When I had a heavily modified T/A daily driver, I was meeting with the pump at least twice a week - that really hurt my wallet. Both of these cars are fuel injected, too. That sort of economy is unheard of from carbureted muscle.

Horespower numbers are at an all time high from the OE. Somehow, they manage to squeeze out over 20mpg in almost all of these powerful machines. But, with gas tripping 3.30 for regular grade, is 20+mpg going to cut it for your daily commute?

What are your plans for you daily driver?
Do you already have a 30+mpg car to fill this slot?
