Detroit, Mich., March 19, 2008 – Pontiac announced today that starting with the GAINSCO Grand Prix of Miami on March 29 the brand will offer contingency support to teams campaigning the Pontiac GXP.R  in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 Rolex GT class.

The contingency program will reward a first place finish with $5,000, second place $3,000 and a third place with $1,000.  Pontiac will also pay $10,000 to the Pontiac GXP.R team that can win the season ending Rolex GT championship.  This program mirrors the company’s commitment to the Daytona Prototype series awarding the same contingency amounts in the GT class.
