Tell us how you bought your Pontiac. Some people have had some spectacular stories to tell.
It took me several attempts at buying a car before I finally found my Trans Am, which I have since traded in for a '05 GTO. The car was exactly what I was looking for at the time I bought it, aside from the automatic transmission. My other car, another LS-powered car from the General, was an automatic drag car. So I really wanted to switch things up a bit and get a six-speed. Well after months of looking on Auto Trader and eBay, I wasn't able to find what I was looking for. My ultra-narrow search for a 2001 or 2002 Sunset Orange or Pewter six-speed were killing my progress. I drove several cars during this time, but nothing meshed right with me.
It wasn't until I had the idea of opening my search for an auto that I found my '01 Light Pewter Metallic Trans Am. It looked perfect and I was very happy. It had tinted windows, a small cam, and a Flowmaster muffler with long tube headers. I ended up going with a Corsa setup, but the Flowmaster sounded rather deep.
I enjoyed driving this car more than anything I have ever owned up to that point. Owning that car was filled with mixed emotions, though. It broke down several times while I owned it, thanks to shotty mechanic work. Once I had everything ironed out, there weren't too many cars that cruised the highways and looked cooler. Every time I drove the car it made me happy, and it really rekindled my love for Pontiacs.
