On October 8, DIY launches the Burt Builds a Bandit contest where web users are directed to log into, and upload You-tube style videos explaining why they should win the limited edition BRE Trans Am.

According to DIY, "Reynolds will help select the most creative video. The winner gets to drive home in a fully restored Burt Reynolds Edition Trans Am  (BRE) Prototype 1 car as featured in 'Celebrity Rides: Burt Builds a Bandit.' "

"In 1977, the water cooler conversation focused ... on a hot little car called Bandit. Thirty years later, car and film enthusiasts alike still have a passion for this incredible vehicle and the impact it had on pop culture," says Kathleen Finch, DIY Network's general manager. "To be able to give away one of these incredible custom vehicles to a lucky DIY viewer is just icing on the cake." The contest dates are from October 8-November 30. "The winner will be announced during a one-hour recap special of the series on Friday, Dec. 14, 10 p.m. ET," says DIY.

The Bandit Trans Ams are incredible machines and deserve their place in Pontiac History. With all the wonderful improvements to handling, performance and that great 1970s Pontiac design make this car a winner forever.

Man this thing must cost a ton...Guess that makes it worth entering!
